Clay Masks and Detox Baths
Clay is a natural substance mined from the earth; it has been blessed by many sunrises, rainstorms, and moon rises. Using clay as a beauty aid harnesses the energy of thousands of years for a wonderful cleansing experience! I have designed facial masks and detoxifying bath soaks using clay and other ingredients for radiant skin and general health.
Ancient civilizations were well aware of the healing properties of clay and used it for a variety of purposes. Egyptians used clay extensively in their spiritual culture and Native Americans used clay in religious ceremonies to allow energy, healing and wisdom to pass through it.

Clay Facial Masks~made with bentonite, french green and kaolin clays, chlorella powder, and organic herbs & essential oils
Clay is a popular ingredient used in facial masks because as it dries, it pulls toxins and other impurities out of the skin. At the same time, the minerals in the clay are absorbed into the skin giving your face a wonderful feel and natural glow. Presented in a shaker top jar, simply add a small amount of water to 2 teaspoons of clay mixture to form a paste. Massage into face and neck once a week and allow to dry (10-15 minutes). Once dry, rinse with warm water, pat dry and enjoy your newly refreshed and toned skin! If you have very dry skin, do not use a clay mask more than once a week.

Detox Baths
Many natural ingredients help to balance the body by drawing out toxins accumulated from day to day living. I combine natural clays with Dead Sea salts, Epsom (magnesium) salts, and organic green tea along with organic herbs and essential oils to promote the elimination of acidic wastes from the muscles and joints. These ingredients have an alkalizing effect to naturally assist the body in eliminating toxic buildup. Use this detoxifying, skin softening blend in the bathtub for a full body soak, or you may forgo the bath and opt for a foot soak instead. Foot baths can also be an effective way to draw toxins from body tissues via the soles of the feet.
~It is important to drink plenty of water after your soak to help flush out toxins and rehydrate the body. You may also find that sipping some warm herbal teas will help with the process or you can try this recipe:
1 cup near boiling water
Juice of 1/2 lemon or 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup or raw honey
Stir to dissolve ingredients, cool slightly and sip slowly.
Choices are:
Lavender/Citrus ~ with bentonite, french green and kaolin clays, Dead Sea salts, Magnesium (Epsom) salts, organic essential oils of lavender, bergamot & lemongrass and organic green tea
Lemon/Ginger ~ with bentonite, french green and kaolin clays, Dead Sea salts, Magnesium (Epsom) salts, organic essential oils of ginger, lemon and lime and organic green tea
~16 oz. jar ~ $22.00
use 1/2 jar for a full body, detoxifying bath (after draining the tub, run some rinse water for 1 minute to avoid clay residue settling in the pipes)
or use 1/2 cup for a detoxifying foot soak (enough for 4 to 5 foot soaks)

~Bentonite Clay~ Also known as living clay, bentonite clay is sedimentary clay composed of weathered and aged volcanic ash. Bentonite is one of the most effective and powerful healing clays used to treat both internal and external maladies. It has the ability to absorb toxins, impurities, heavy metals and other contaminants from the body.
~Kaolin Clay~ Kaolinite is a clay mineral. Rocks that are rich in kaolinite are known as China clay or kaolin. This white clay will gently draw impurities from the skin without removing natural oils while simultaneously exfoliating, cleansing, and stimulating circulation. White clay is suitable for all skin types: oily, blemish prone, normal, sensitive, dry, or mature skin.
~Chlorella Powder~ Chlorella is a single celled algae that some scientists believe may be among the Earth's oldest living organisms. Natural health enthusiasts know chlorella well as a detoxifier, immune system stimulator, and excellent source of general nutrition. Chlorella softens, revitalizes and hydrates the skin and is rich in chlorophyll, vitamins and minerals.
